Red Star is hiring Production Packaging Technicians on all shifts to support our injection molding processes.
Summary:
The position of Production Packaging Technician is responsible for the assembly, labeling, and packaging of medical device components, nonsterile instruments, sterile devices, and instrument kits.
This position also involves being cross trained to provide support to injection molding processes in a controlled environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
(includes the following but other duties may be assigned) Responsible for sterile pack assembly of surgical instrument kits and medical devices in preparation for terminal sterilization.
Perform process monitoring testing for sterile packaging samples.
Visual inspection of finished product to ensure quality throughout the process.
Use of variety of machines and testing equipment.
Assesses movement of parts, gauges and machine sounds to determine potential equipment failures.
Interprets drawings and attributes on production work orders (PWO) and follow routing of PWO.
Maintains and monitors machine settings per the Process Specification.
Have knowledge of specifications and proper use of tools, and ability to properly run, maintain, and inspect as required.
Troubleshoot and report equipment operation problems and have knowledge of product.
Following work instructions to comply with product standards and procedures.
Complete all job-related paperwork and shop floor data collection accurately.
Adhere to all aspects of the ISO 13485 Quality Management System.
Adhere to safe operating procedures as required by specific standards related to the equipment.
Maintain workplace cleanliness, follow line clearance work instructions.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent 1
year of Packaging Experience (preferred) MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize multiple tasks accordingly Team Player PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Excellent vision is required to detect defects and remove small particles from packaging and product.
